Vietnam PM Oks Korean Loan to Solar Energy Supply Project in Central Province
Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung has approved an agreement on accessing to a loan from South Korea to fund a solar energy supply project in the central province of Quang Binh. At mid-2011, the Export-Import Bank of Korea (Korea Eximbank) signed a contract to provide a finance of $12 million to Quang Binh province to carry out the solar energy project costing $13.668 million here. The project aims to supply electricity to 1,514 households at 55 hamlets in Le Thuy, Quang Ninh, Bo Trach and Minh Hoa districts, families in 10 remote communes, 41 schools, 13 forest protection stations, and eight local cultural houses. The facility with a capacity of 1.015 KWP is slated for completion in 2013. On the same day, the PM ratified another fund from South Korea for the drainage and wastewater treatment project in Long Xuyen City, the southern province of An Giang.
