Vietnam PM Oks ADB-Funded VND4.3T Irrigation Project in Central Province

Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung has approved a VND4.315 trillion ($197 million) irrigation project funded by the Asian Development Bank (ADB) in the central province of Thanh Hoa. The project will target to build three irrigation canals with lengths of 16.51 kilometers, 58.5 kilometers and 43.34 kilometers. Once operational, the irrigation system will provide water for the region lying between the Chu River and the Ma River in the Thanh Hoa province, which is the third largest delta in Vietnam after the Mekong Delta and the Red River Delta.
