Vietnam Outstanding Ethnic Schoolgirls Praised
Vice State President Nguyen Thi Doan hosted a reception at the Presidential Palace in Hanoi on July 29 for 47 poor ethnic minority schoolgirls who achieved excellent academic results and are recipients of ‘Vu A Dinh’ scholarships. The reception was also attended by former Vice State President and President of the ‘Vu A Dinh’ Scholarship Fund, Truong My Hoa. At the meeting, the schoolgirls from 27 different ethnic minorities across the country briefed the Vice President on their academic results in the past school year. They also affirmed their determination to overcome difficulties and continue striving for excellence. Speaking at the event, Vice President Doan praised the students’ efforts and achievements, saying she hopes that the students will continue their outstanding academic performance, become good citizens and contribute to national construction and defense in the future. The Vice President also praised the Vu A Dinh Scholarship Fund for caring for students across the country, especially those from ethnic minorities in remote areas. (Nhan Dan – The People July 30)
