Vietnam Northern Province Oks to Build Four Hospitals Next Year

Authorities of Vietnam’s northern province of Phu Tho have approved a plan to build four hospitals in Viet Tri city next year, the Tuoi Tre newspaper reported. Located on a total site of 30.6ha in Van Phu ward in Phuong Lau commune, the hospital complexes will comprise a provincial general hospital, obstetrics hospital, eye hospital and pediatrics one. The facilities will also have other supporting works like water and waste treatment systems as well as funeral home. The plan is expected to better medical checkups and treatment for local residents as well as those from neighboring provinces. Total capital of the project has not been made available at thi time. Vietnam now has 13,438 healthcare facilities with 200,000 sickbeds, including 1,063 public ones. (Tuoi Tre – Youth Sept 28 p4, baophutho.vn Sept 27)
