Vietnam Launches $4M World Bank-funded Project on Statistics Building
Vietnam’s General Statistics Office (GSO) launched on Jan 28 a package to upgrade data for the office in a project costing more than $4 million funded by the World Bank.The contractor named Nec – Mitec will conduct the package which will focus on upgrading wide area network (WAN) and local area network (LAN); enhancing network security and developing statistics collection.This package which will finish by mid-June is part of the GSO 5.2 project aiming to boost statistics capacity in all 63 cities and provinces nationwide.In Vietnam, building statistics is solely done by the GSO without any independent supervision agency.
