Vietnam, Italy Boost Ties in Health & Humanitarian Fields
A delegation from Vietnam National Hospital of Pediatrics paid a working visit to Italy’s Tuscany region on Jan 14-21 to boost cooperation and exchange of health workers and advanced medical technologies transfer. During their stay, the Vietnamese delegation held a working session with Tuscany Children’s Hospital, one of the largest pediatrics hospitals in Italy. Under the cooperation program in 2011, three doctors from Vietnam National Hospital of Pediatrics will go to Italy for a three-month training course to share and gain experiences. Tuscany’s Red Cross Society will fund for the program of a long-term cooperation between the Vietnam National Hospital of Pediatrics and Tuscany’s Pediatrics Hospital. On the occasion, the Vietnamese delegation also visited Red Cross rehabilitation centers and some medical units of the region. Regarding the humanitarian cooperation, the Vietnamese Ambassador to Italy Dang Khanh Toai held a talk with the President of Tuscany’s Red Cross Society, Francesco Caponi to discuss ways to expand humanitarian projects in Vietnam. Caponi stressed that the Red Cross Society in Tuscany in particular and Italy’s Red Cross Society in general wish to expand their cooperation with Vietnam’s partner in all fields to enhance the friendship between the two sides.
