Vietnam Institute Puts in Use Mine Detectors
Vietnam’s Engineering Institute of Technology has successfully made metal mine detectors DKL-03 in service of landmines to overcome the consequences after the war. Detectors were made of metal mines, metals and other types of bombs, bullets or other metal objects lying on the ground, in shallow water. DKL mine detectors find anti-tank mines, such as TM-57 at a depth of 800mm, anti-infantry mines PPM-2 at a depth of 10mm deep, mines K58 with a depth of 180mm, bomblets with a depth of from 200 to 250mm deep. Volume of operating machine is 3.4 kg, total weight of the box as transported is 6kg; 9V power supplies. It can work in conditions of heavy ore contaminated soil, laterite, soil contamination, as well as from strong magnetic fields, areas with high voltage power lines thanks to the geographical balance.
