Vietnam Imports $95M Worth of Pharmaceuticals in January
Vietnam spent $95 million on importing pharmaceuticals in Jan 2012, falling 17.4% from a year earlier, the government’s General Statistics Office (GSO) said Feb 2. The figure also showed a decrease of 33.1% from the previous month, the office noted. The country poured $1.47 billion on buying such goods items last year, posting an on-year increase of 18.2%. It will prioritize improving its pharmaceutical industry in efforts to reduce the imports and satisfy 70% of the country’s drug demand by 2015, from the current only 50%, Deputy Minister of Health Cao Minh Quang said.
