Vietnam Hosts Int’l Conference on Sewerage, Wastewater Treatment

A Southeast Asian conference on sewerage and wastewater treatment towards sustainable development is taking place in Vietnam’s southern city of Vung Tau from Oct 12-13. The two-day event draws the participations of senior experts and leaders of relevant agencies from Southeast Asia, Japan, ADB, and JICA, focusing on service delivery, financing, technology, maintenance and capacity building. The seminar is a good chance for participants to discuss and present best practices and lessons learned from different countries in the region with the aim to boost and develop the water sector. As many as 30 scientific reports are presented at the conference that is co-held by the Southeast Asian Water Utilities Network, the Vietnam Water Supply and Sewerage Association, and the Vietnamese Ministry of Construction. On the occasion, consultancies and providers of water materials and devices showcase their advanced technologies and initiatives in operating sewerages or environmental sanitation.
