Vietnam Has Second Most Polluted Air in ASEAN in 2023: IQAir
Vietnam has been named the country with the second most polluted air in Southeast Asia in 2023, following Indonesia, according to the latest annual report from the Swiss organization IQAir.
Vietnam took the 22nd position in the global ranking, the report added.
Hanoi was the locality with the unhealthiest air in Vietnam last year. It ranked the eighth most polluted city in the world, closely tailing Indonesia’s capital city of Jakarta.
According to the report, in 2023, Vietnam saw a nearly 9% increase in levels of hazardous small particles (PM2.5). Last year also marked the third consecutive year that approximately eight million residents in Hanoi experienced escalating PM2.5 concentrations.
