Vietnam Has 23.25M Learners in Preschool, General Education in 2024-2025

Vietnam recorded 23.25 million students at all levels in the 2024-2025 academic year, including 4.85 million kids in kindergartens and preschools and 18.4 million learners in general education, the General Statistics Office (GSO) cited statistics from the Ministry of Education and Training (MoET) as saying.

As of June 20, the country has 15,269 kindergartens and preschools (down 0.04% compared to the previous academic year), with 365,200 teachers (+2.8% y/y), and 25,901 schools for the general education level (down 0.6% y/y), with 829,900 teachers (+2.7% y/y).

Vietnam recorded over one million candidates attending the national high school graduation exam this year, with a pass rate of 99.39%.

Regarding vocational training, Vietnam had 1,878 vocational training (TVET) units as of August, including 392 colleges, 428 immediate schools, and 1,058 vocational education centers.
