Vietnam Hanoi to Spend $5.31M on Rehabilitation Hospital Upgrade by 2014
Authorities of Vietnam’s capital city of Hanoi have approved to spend VND110 billion ($5.31 million) to upgrade the Sanatorium and Rehabilitation Hospital, the Thoi Bao Kinh Te reported Aug 15. The 80-sickbed facility is expected to offer medical checkups and treatment to children with disabilities and those hurt by Agent Orange in the wartime. The hospital is scheduled for implementation from 2012 through 2014. Earlier in Mar, the municipal health department also put into operation a similar hospital in Thanh Xuan district with 200 sickbeds, aiming to benefit patients with chronic and occupational diseases. Vietnam now has 36 rehabilitation hospitals and 90% of general hospitals across the country have a rehabilitation department. Most of them are facing serious overload.
