Vietnam Govt Offers Food for Poor Students

Disadvantaged high-school students will be supported with their food and accommodation expenses, the Prime Minister has decided.Ethnic minority students who are studying in state-run high schools and permanently residing in areas with poor economic conditions will be offered an amount that is equal to 40% of the minimum salary per month for a nine-month academic year. Ten percentage of the minimum salary level will be paid for those who have to pay their accommodation.The decision will come into force on March 15. (Vietnamplus.vn Jan 29)
