Vietnam Gov’t Assigns Role in Managing Vocational Education
The Vietnamese government has outlined a management plan for vocational education and training at its monthly meeting in April. Accordingly, the Ministries of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs (MoLISA) and of Education and Training (MoET) will take the lead on this subject. The government asked the two ministries to work together and in collaboration with the Ministry of Justice and other relevant agencies to collect cabinet members’ opinions and finalize a draft detailing articles for the Law on Vocational Education and Training. Prior to this, MoLISA and MoET have both collected public opinions on managing vocational training through online polls in February and March, respectively. The Law on Vocational Education and Training was passed by the National Assembly in November 2014 and will take effect on July 1st, 2015. (Vietnamnet May 5)
