Vietnam Gets Grants to Send 30 Researchers, Scholars to U.S.

The Vietnam Education Foundation (VEF), an initiative by the U.S. to promote closer relationship between the two countries, has granted 26 researchers and four scholars to attend 24 universities in the U.S. for the 2015-2016 academic year, the Thanh Nien newspaper reported on June 2. The VEF will hold a Pre-Departure Orientation from June 4 to June 6 in Dong Nai province and Ho Chi Minh City to prepare the researchers and scholars for the journey to the U.S. The group will take part in several Post-Doctorate programs, which often last for 12 months, in Biology, Medical, Computer Science, and Physical Science fields. The program started in 2003 and had sent 528 researchers and scholars including the 30 researchers and scholars this year. (Thanh Nien – Young People June 2 p2)
