Vietnam EVN Seeks Bidders for ADB-funded Hydropower Project

Central Power Corporation, a unit of the Vietnam Electricity Group (EVN), the country’s sole power distributor, is seeking bidders to supply hydro-mechanical and electro-mechanical equipment for a hydropower project in the central province of Thua Thien-Hue. Deadline for bids to the 7.2-MW A Roang plant which receives financial support from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) are on November 15.
With an investment of VND143 billion ($6.84 million), the plant is expected to generate 28.41 million kWh of electricity per year. A Roang is one of 21 hydropower projects with total capacity of 357 kWh licensed in Thua Thien-Hue. (www.hydroworld.com, http://vbpl.thuathienhue.gov.vn)
