Vietnam Disburses $9.9M State Funds for Health Projects in January - March
Vietnam is estimated to have disbursed VND208 billion ($9.9 million) worth of state funds for health projects in the first quarter of this year, fulfilling 18.7% of the whole year’s set target. The figure shows an on-year slight increase of 9.2%, the government’s General Statistics Office (GSO) said in its monthly report. In March, the country have also disbursed an estimated of VND91 billion worth of state funds for such projects, compared to the revised figure of VND65 billion in February. Many foreign investors are showing their interests in Vietnam’s high-grade hospital projects, experts said they will target the two biggest cities of Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh where many high incomers are living. The domestic health sector is forecast to need a total investment of VND120 trillion in the next five years, with VND100 trillion for upgrading provincial hospitals, VND10 trillion for expanding intensive health operations, and between VND5 trillion and VND10 trillion for manpower training.
