Vietnam Disburses $25.73M State Funds for Health Projects in Jan-Jul

Vietnam is estimated to have disbursed VND530 billion ($25.73 million) worth of state funds for its health projects in the first seven months of this year, fulfilling 58.9% of the year’s set target and posting an on-year rise of 6.1%. In July, the state fund disbursement for such projects stood at VND97 billion, versus VND96 billion in June, the government’s General Statistics Office (GSO) said. The foreign direct investment (FDI) inflow to health and social support projects have remained low with $1.02 billion as of July 20, showed statistics by the Ministry of Planning and Investment.  The domestic health sector is predicted to need a total investment of VND120 trillion in the next five years, with a majority of VND100 trillion for upgrading provincial hospitals, VND10 trillion for expanding intensive health operations, and between VND5 trillion-VND10 trillion for manpower training.
