Vietnam Disburses $2.47M State Funds for Health Projects in January
Vietnam disbursed VND52 billion ($2.47 million) worth of state funds for health projects in the first month of this year, fulfilling 4.7% of the whole year’s set target. The figure represented an on-year slight decrease of 1.9%, the government’s General Statistics Office (GSO) said in its monthly report released on Feb 2. In 2011, the country also disbursed VND922 billion worth of state funds for medical sector, surpassing 2.5% of last year’s set goal and rising 5.2% on-year. The domestic health sector is forecast to need a total investment of VND120 trillion in the next five years, with VND100 trillion for upgrading provincial hospitals, VND10 trillion for expanding intensive health operations, and between VND5 trillion and VND10 trillion for manpower training.
