Vietnam, Cuba Sign Deal to Boost Education Cooperation
Vietnam’s Ministry of Education and Training and Cuba’s Ministry of Higher Education have signed a cooperation agreement on academic exchanges between their tertiary education establishments. The agreement was signed during Mr. Luan’s five-day visit to Cuba starting on April 16. The cooperation will focus on training human resources and scientific research. Minister Luan thanked Cuba for training thousands of Vietnamese experts and engineers over the past decades, while sharing Vietnam’s education reform experience and outlining its educational development targets in the coming years. Cuba has always given top priority to education for the past half century Mr. Alarcon said, adding that it has reformed its education system and focused on improving the quality of learning and teaching in junior colleges and higher education systems across the country. During his visit, Minister Luan discussed with his Cuban counterpart Ena Elsa Hermandez on education policies for disabled people as well as visited Vietnamese students in Cuba and talked with leaders and teachers from universities and training centers in Havana.
