Vietnam Capital City Aims to Have 100% Schools Equipped with Medical Clinics
The People’s Committee of Hanoi has a new goal for the school year of 2016-2017, targeting to equip all schools and educational facilities in the city with medical clinics that are of acceptable standards and meet emergency aid requirement, the Phap Luat & Xa Hoi newspaper reported August 25. According to Planning no. 156/KH-UBND, municipal authorities seek to have 100% of schools recruit medical workers of associate level and above, in addition to having all kindergartens and public schools hold regular health checkup for students, with 100% of those diagnosed with any illness will receive notification for timely treatment at upper-tier hospitals. The planning also sets to raise public health understanding at all districts and communes in the city to prevent spread of diseases at schools, striving to eliminate bad eye sight, scoliosis, dental problems, worm or parasite infections.
