Vietnam, Belgium Promote Cooperation in Supporting AO Victims

President of the Belgian Chamber of Representatives Eliane Tillieux hosted a meeting for Vietnamese Ambassador to Belgium Nguyen Van Thao, representatives of the Collectif Vietnam Dioxine, French-Vietnamese women Tran To Nga, and Belgian parliamentarian André Flahaut on November 7, during which they discussed joint support for victims of Agent Orange (AO).

Ambassador Thao lauded the Belgian Chamber of Representatives for approving a resolution in support of AO victims in Vietnam last month and vowed to work closely with Belgium to promote aid for the victims of dioxin.

The President of the Belgian Chamber of Representatives affirmed that Belgium will give Vietnam financial support and promote academic studies between universities of both sides in aid of AO victims.

Mr. André Flahaut said that his country will contribute dioxin clearance technologies to Vietnam at first.
