Vietnam’s Education Sector Desires to Receive Greater Japan Support: Minister
Vietnamese Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Kim Son held talks with President of the Constitutional Democratic Party of Japan (CDP) Kenta Izumi in Hanoi last week, in which he shared his wish to receive greater education support from Japan.
Minister Son proposed the Japanese side support Vietnam with Japanese language teaching materials and volunteer teachers as many Vietnamese people choose to study Japanese.
He also hoped that Japan would further assist Vietnam in training scientists and education managers, while paying attention to the development of the Vietnam-Japan University.
In reply, President Kenta Izumi informed the host that Japan’s CDP has strengths in investing in human resource training, which is close to the mission of Vietnam’s Ministry of Education and Training (MoET).
He also shared that the meetings between him and senior Vietnamese officials discussed how Japan strengthened support and cooperation in human resource training for Vietnam.
Currently, Japan is home to around 40,000 Vietnamese students, according to the MoET.
