USA Pledges To Continue Its Support in UXO Clearance

The USA will add $3.5 million in its support for Vietnam in overcoming the aftermath of the war, especially UXOs clearance. The above support is part of key cooperation programs between Vietnam and the USA as confirmed by Mr. Walter D. Givhan, Deputy-Assistant-Secretary in the US Department of State’s Bureau of Political and Military Affairs at a meeting with the Press in Hanoi on May 3rd. Mr. Givhan is currently on his visit to Vietnam to foster specific cooperation programs on defense and security between the USA and Vietnam and the implementation of the MoU on defense cooperation signed between Vietnamese Defense Ministry and US Department of Defense in late 2011.
