University Graduates Benefit from Japan Aid

A $4 million Japanese fund will provide Vietnamese university graduates with an opportunity to study in Japan and hone advanced levels skills in human resource training.  Yasuaki Tanizaki, Japanese Ambassador to Vietnam and Pham Vu Luan, Minister of Education and Training jointly signed on the non-refundable aid scholarship project on July 20 in Hanoi. Over the years, Japan has carried out many education projects to support Vietnam. The present education support project began in 2000. Under the project, over 300 Vietnamese students have already studied and trained in Japan and now hold vital positions in the fields of administration, economics and research in many Southeast Asian countries. Ambassador Tanizaki hopes that Vietnamese students who acquire advanced learning will return to play an important role in the country’s economic growth and will also help strengthen and serve to bridge strong Japan-Vietnam relations.
