Unexploded Grenades Claim Two Lives in Central Vietnam
Two children from Phuc Trach Commune in the central province of Quang Binh were killed yesterday by two grenades left over from the American War, the communal Party secretary Nguyen Van Hien told Vietnam News in a phone interview. Hien said the nine-year-old and five-year-old found the grenades in a field and took them home to play with at lunchtime yesterday. The deadly devices, which look like toys, killed the two children immediately. (Vietnam News May 23 p3, Thanh Nien – Young People May 23 p5)
