Three New Universities To Be Set Up

Three new universities are to be set up, one each in HCM City, Vinh Yen City and Thanh Hoa City. Vinh Yen City is located in the northern province of Vinh Phuc and Thanh Hoa City is in the central province of Thanh Hoa. Vinh Yen's College of Transport under the Ministry of Transport will become the University of Transport Technology. HCM City's Nguyen Tat Thanh College, a private school, will become Nguyen Tat Thanh University. The Thanh Hoa Art and Culture College will be upgraded to Thanh Hoa Culture, Art and Tourism University. Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung has signed decisions on the first two proposals and agreed to the third. (qdnd.vn May 1)
