Thousands of College Graduates in Hanoi Live on Unemployed Insurance

Up to 11,700 colleges graduates or 35.61% out of 33,000 people receiving unemployed insurance in Vietnam’s capital city of Hanoi in 2015, state-run Phap Luat newspaper said citing the latest report by Hanoi Job Service Center under the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs. The figure of college graduates represents a 3.01% decline on-year but is still high, Director of the Center Nguyen Toan Phong said. Mr. Phong attributed the high unemployment rate to the negative impact from international and regional economy, which made many businesses to shut down or cut bank on jobs. Meanwhile, the center provided career consultants and recommended jobs for 32,100 unemployed people in 2015. (plo.vn Feb 29)
