Texting Campaign Launched to Support Vietnam AO/Dioxin Victims
A texting campaign was launched in Hanoi on July 21 to raise funds in support of Vietnam’s Agent Orange (AO)/dioxin victims.
The Central Committee of the Vietnam Association of Victims of Agent Orange/dioxin (VAVA) and the National Humanitarian Portal 1400 called on organizations and individuals nationwide to support the campaign by texting DA CAM to 1409 between July 20 and September 19.
Each message means a donation worth VND20,000 to the victims.
This year, the program sets a target of mobilizing VND3 billion which will be used to repair houses for AO/dioxin victims as well as provide them with health treatment, medicine, vocational training, and saving books.
In 2022, the program received more than 155,000 messages and raised VND3.12 billion, which was then used to repair houses for AO/dioxin victims, and present gifts to their families and care centers on special days.
