Spain Helps Ease Pains among Vietnam Human Trafficking Victims
The Spanish Agency of International Cooperation for Development (AECID) has made efforts to ease pains of Vietnamese victims of human trafficking cases through the launch of a project four years ago. The project named Ngoi Nha Binh Yen or a peaceful roof is aimed to support the victims after they are back to the community. Statistics from the Vietnamese Ministry of Police showed that the country had 4,793 victims in 1,949 human trafficking cases from 2004 to 2010. The AECID has also helped Vietnam fight against domestic violence as the country is home to 58% of married women suffering at least one of violent types, including physical, sexual and emotional one.
