South Korea Helps Improve Soft Skills for Vietnam Youth
Organizations of Vietnam and South Korea have signed an agreement to carry out a project on improving soft skills for young Vietnamese people. The agreement was signed in Hanoi on Mar 21 by Don Tuan Phong, deputy chairman of Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations (VUFO) and Park Ock Soo, founder of the Republic of Korea’s International Youth Fellowship (IYF). IYF will fund $150,000 for the project which will be implemented in Hanoi, the central city of Danang, and the southern metropolis of Ho Chi Minh for three years. The project aims to consult and support Vietnamese youth in improving their cluster of interpersonal skills that characterize relationships with other people as well as create a healthy environment for youth to show their ability. South Korean organizations and companies have funded many social projects that help improve skills for young Vietnamese people. The funding follows the increasing flows of South Korean investments in Vietnam. Together with the mounting Korean investment for the past decade, the penetration of Korean products and culture into the Southeast Asian country becomes more obvious. It has promoted the popularity of Korean’s culture, products, fashion, and food in the communist country. (Vov.vn Mar 22, VietnamPlus Mar 22)
