S.Korea Firm Wins $76.7M Deal for JICA-funded Road Project in Vietnam
A consortium between South Korea’s Keangnam and Vietnam’s Civil Engineering Construction Corp. 4 has won a VND1.59 trillion ($76.7 million) package of a project to build a road connecting Noi Bai International Airport to Nhat Tan Bridge. Under the deal, the consortium will build five kilometers of six-lane road within 29 months. This is the last package of the VND5-trillion project. The 12.1 km road starting from the Nam Hong intersection to National Highway 12 and the North Thang Long-Noi Bai intersection is expected to become operational by 2014 together with Nhat Tan Bridge and Noi Bai Airport’s T2 Station. The first loan agreement for the project was signed on March 18, 2010 between the government of Vietnam and the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), in an amount of JPY6.546 billion.
