Six Vietnamese universities have been named in the Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) World University Rankings 2025, with Duy Tan University achieving the highest position at 495, local media reported.
Under the QS World University Rankings 2025, the five remaining universities are (i) Ton Duc Thang University in the 711-720 range, (ii) Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City in the 951-1000 range to 901-950, (iii) Hanoi University of Science and Technology in the 1201-1400 range, and (v) Hue University in the 1201-1400 range.
Among the listed universities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi saw the most significant improvement, jumping 100 places from the previous year. Associate Professor Dr. Nghiem Xuan Huy, director of the Institute for Quality Assurance in Education, attributed this rise to its high scores in Employer and Employment Outcomes.
The university has also sustained its growth in international publications and maintained a reasonable faculty-to-student ratio.
QS is one of the three renowned university ranking organizations, alongside Times Higher Education (THE) and the Shanghai Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU). This year’s rankings feature over 1,500 universities from 106 countries and territories. Of the nine criteria used, Academic Reputation carries the most weight at 30%, followed by Citations per Faculty at 20%.
