Saudi Arabia to Fund $14.5M for Healthcare Project in North Vietnam
The Saudi Fund for Development will fund $14.5 million for the construction of a medical training center costing total $16.54 million in Vietnam’s northern mountainous province of Bac Kan under an agreement signed recently. Kicked off in November 2012, the facility outfitted with modern technology aims to provide sufficient health workers for rural and remote areas in the locality to better serve local people, particularly ethic minorities and the poor. The center will also offer further training to postgraduates and assist health researchers in service of healthcare development in Bac Kan and the neighboring areas. Once completed in mid-2014, the center is expected to be ready for its first 200-300 recruits next year. (vietnamplus.vn Nov 4)
