Poor Suffer From Lack of Eye Care
Viet Nam now has nearly 1,200 eye doctors working at hospitals in 211 districts, accounting for 30% of total number of districts in the country, according to the Viet Nam National Institute of Ophthalmology. Due to the shortage of ophthalmologists, many eye care services including prevention of blindness are not being offered to many people, especially poor and disadvantaged citizens.
