Plan Int’l Helps Poor Children in Kon Tum
Plan International, a children's organization working with communities in 50 developing countries to alleviate child poverty, will help improve the living conditions of poor children in the Central Highland province of Kon Tum. This was announced during a working visit by Plan International Director General Glenn Gibney to the province on November 18. Accordingly, the organization will continue its sponsorship for the Konplong district and expand its activities in the Kon Ray district in the next five years. It will give priority to building schools, preventing malnutrition among children, and training teachers for child education and treatment. Over the past three years, Plan International has raised funds of more than $2.1 million to assist local people in the two districts who are affected by storms and floods. (english.vovnews.vn Nov 18)
