Pilot Social Security Program for Poor Households

The Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs has announced a pilot project to implement a social security program for those living on the poverty line in some of the poorer provinces. Under the program, households living on the poverty line, including pregnant women or children under the age of 15, will be provided social security.The pilot project will be implemented in eight provinces, namely, the northern provinces of Lao Cai, Ha Giang, central provinces of Quang Nam and Quang Ngai, highland provinces of Gia Lai, Kon Tum, Lam Dong, and Tra Vinh Province in the Mekong Delta.Concerned authorities in each province will select three districts to carry out the project.
