Photo Festival Features Northern Mountainous Region

The 12th Photography Festival in the northern province of Phu Tho opened on August 10 featuring 1,630 photos taken by 293 professional and amateur photographers from 15 northern midland and mountainous provinces.

The photos showcase the nature and people of the northern midland and mountainous regions, including images of the nature and landscape, people following Uncle Ho’s instructions, and the socio-economic development and cultural lives of ethnic minority people.

After three qualifying rounds, 20 pictures were selected for awards, including two gold, four silver, and six bronze medals, as well as eight consolation prizes. In addition, 200 photos were also chosen for the exhibition.

The festival, co-organized by the Phu Tho provincial People’s Committee and the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists, marks the 67th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day. (nhandan.org.vn Aug 11)
