More Support For Needy People in Phu Yen Province

The Phu Yen Provincial Red Cross has held various meaningful activities to help local needy people during the Tet holiday. According to Mr. Dinh Cong Danh, Vice Chairman of the Red Cross, the organization’s branches have raised funds of more than VND4.1 billion from individuals and groups to support local beneficiaries. In particular, the Swiss Red Cross donated VND150 million, while other Red Cross agencies in Ho Chi Minh City, Gia Lai, and Binh Duong Provinces also presented hundreds of millions of VND to needy people. With these donations, the Organization was able to carry out the program, “Tet for Poor People and Agent Organ Victims”, in the Province. During the Lunar New Year Festival, the Organization presented more than 13,000 gifts; provided free check-ups and medicines to more than 600 people; and helped local residents build 40 houses.
