More Needy Children Receive Scholarships

The National Fund for Vietnamese Children recently presented scholarships to 350 needy children in the provinces of Lai Chau and Dien Bien who are at risk of dropping out of school.The scholarship presentation is part of the program, “I don’t drop out of school”, sponsored by the Inter-Pacific Export-Import Ltd. Company, the Thanh Cong Investment Joint-stock Company and the Vietnam Education Publishing House, to encourage needy children to continue studying and strive for better academic performance in the coming time.Launched in 2012 by Vice State President Nguyen Thi Doan, Chairwoman of Board of Directors of the Fund, the program has so far presented 3,416 scholarships to needy children with good academic results in 28 provinces and cities nationwide.On the occasion, Vice State President Nguyen Thi Doan visited and presented VND60 million to the Lai Chau and Dien Bien provincial Social Support Centers.As planned, in 2013, the fund will present more 5,250 scholarships to needy children in 35 other provinces and cities.
