More Accommodations to Be Built For Poor People

Hanoi will announce five large projects to build nearly 3,000 houses and apartments for low-income people on March 5th, according to the Ministry of Construction. These houses are expected to be constructed in four districts of Long Bien, Gia Lam, Tu Liem and Ha Dong. From March 5th to 31st, investors of the projects will receive applications from low-income people. Some other businesses have registered to build houses for poor people, said the Ministry of Construction. In particular, one project to provide 5,000 houses for low-income people is under consideration. According to statistics of the Construction Ministry, low-income people need 500,000 apartments. At present, 37 projects with the total investment of 3,600 billion VND to build houses for low-income people have been carried out in some big cities. Once completed, 64,000 low-income people will be provided with accommodations. During this year, 70,000 low-income households are expected to have houses. (www.qdnd.vn Feb 23)
