More Than 120 Ethnic, Mountainous Students Granted Scholarships
On May 26, the Centre for Research and Development of Ethnic Minority and Mountainous Areas under the University of Social Sciences and Humanities held scholarship awards for more than 120 ethnic and mountainous students studying in the university. Together with VND190 million from the centre, more than 100 copies of spell-check software worth VND48 million, donated by the Viegrid Joint-stock Communication and Technology Company, were granted for the ethnic and mountainous students to help them overcome difficulties in their lives to achieve good results in their studying. This is a regular activity of the Centre for Research and Development of Ethnic Minority and Mountainous Areas, to carry out the fund for development of education in ethnic minority and mountainous areas in Vietnam. Earlier, in January 2011, the centre granted VND 180 million for ethnic students and pupils in the northern mountainous province of Bac Giang. (cpv.org.vn May 26)
