Major Funds Raised for Vietnam AO Victims
The central city's Association for Victims of Agent Orange has received VND4.7 billion ($223,000), $3,000, and a car valued at VND1.2 billion ($57,000) from local and foreign donors following a fundraising event on Saturday. The event, titled ‘Love and Connectivity', was held to raise funds for building a detoxification rehabilitation centre for AO victims as well as helping AO kids in the city. Last year, the association received nearly VND6 billion ($285,000) including cash, gifts and equipment from donors. Danang has more than 5,000 AO victims, of which 1,400 are children.
