KOICA to Fund $10M for Technology College Project in North Vietnam

The Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) will fund 11.5 billion won (approximately $10 million) for construction of the Vietnam-Soutth Korea Technological College in Vietnam’s northern province of Bac Giang. The agency will send experts to the locality to provide technical consultancy for Vietnamese personnel during the implementation and management of the construction phase, the Vietnam News Agency said Dec 21. Located on an area of 9,100 square meters, the college will offer training courses in electricity, electronics, IT, and automobile repair and assembly skills, from 2013. The school is expected to train skilled technicians for industrial zones in Bac Giang and localities nationwide where are in shortage of trained workforce. South Korea pledged to provide $270 million in official development assistance (ODA) for Vietnam this year. (www.vietnamplus.vn Dec 21)
