JICA to Support Healthcare Services in North Vietnam by 2016
The Japan International Cooperation (JICA) will implement a project to better healthcare services for local people in Vietnam’s northwestern provinces from now to 2016. The project, with over $3.2 million funded by the Japanese government, will offer training courses for health workers and build information technology networks on management of the transfer of patients between local-and central-level hospitals. The project will benefit local residents in the six northern mountainous provinces of Hoa Binh, Son La, Dien Bien, Lai Chau, Lao Cai and Yen Bai. Earlier, JICA also helped carry out a similar project to improve medical services for the northern province of Hoa Binh. (vietnamplus.vn June 12)
