JICA Helps Vietnam Vegetables Farmers Increase Income
The Japan International cooperation Agency (JICA) is funding a 4.1 billion VND ($195,000) project to help farmers in central Quang Nam province improve their income from vegetable production in the 2013-2016 period. According to the project, Japanese experts from the Minamiboso City International Cooperation Planning Committee will provide training courses on sales promotions, management and processing technology for Quang Nam farmers. Around 14,000 farmers from the districts of Thang Binh, Duy Xuyen, Dien Ban and Tien Phuoc along with those from Hoi An will be trained how to produce safe vegetables, market their products and form distribution networks throughout the province, said Hoang Chau Sinh, vice chairman of the Quang Nam Union of Friendship Organizations.
