Japanese Language to be Taught in Vietnam’s Primary Schools
The Embassy of Japan in Vietnam and the Ministry of Education and Training (MOET) have agreed on the teaching of the Japanese language in Vietnam’s primary and secondary schools starting from the 2016-2017 school year, state media reported. Accordingly, the teaching of Japanese will be piloted in three primary schools in the capital city Hanoi. The two sides will base on teaching results to expand Japanese classes to schools in other provinces and cities. Japanese will be considered the first foreign language for students from third grade within the framework of Vietnam’s National Foreign Languages Project 2020.
