Japan Firm Eyes Int’l Hospital Project in Vietnam
Japan-invested Mitsui & Co. Vietnam Ltd plans to build an international hospital and a healthcare resort in Vietnam in the coming years, heard a meeting between Vu Tien Loc, chairman of Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) and Mitsui General Director of Sato Motonobu in Hanoi May 12. Vietnam has numerous potential to develop the fields since many local people currently have to get medical treatment broad with an estimated expense of $1 billion yearly due to its low-quality medial services, Loc said. The facilities are expected to be located in Da Lat city in the central highlands province of Lam Dong because of its temperate climate and beautiful scenery.
“The world is facing ageing populations and the longevity is on the rise, thus, we are very keen on investing in such hospitals and resorts,” Motonobu said, adding that Mitsui had invested millions of U.S. dollars in building a similar hospital in Malaysia.
