Japan Firm Eyes Int’l Hospital Project in Hi-Tech Park in North Vietnam
Japan’s T.S. BOND Company plans to build an international hospital for cancer treatment in Hoa Lac hi-tech park in Vietnam’s capital city of Hanoi. On Jan 8, Nguyen Cong Tan, chairman of Thanh Tay University meets with Unno Shigemasa from the Japanese firm to seek investment opportunities in the park, state media reported, giving no detail about the project’s investment. Currently, the company’s technology for cancer treatment is completely new and is the most effective treatment with the shortest treatment time, Shigemasa highlighted. If approved, the project will help attract a wide range of concerned Japanese enterprises to invest in Hoa Lac hi-tech park as well as the world’s leading scientists to research new technologies for the treatment of cancer. Vietnam’s cancer burden is immense. With a population of nearly 90 million, it is experiencing 150,000 to 200,000 new cancer patients and up to 100,000 cancer-caused deaths per year, making it the second biggest killer after cardiovascular disease.
