Infrastructure to Be Improved in Poor Districts
The Prime Minister has signed a decision to provide support from the central budget for seven districts that have high poverty rates. The districts include Vo Nhai of the northern province of Thai Nguyen, Vu Quang and Huong Khe of the central province of Ha Tinh, Bac Tra My from the central province of Quang Nam, Dak Glong of the Central Highlands province of Dak Nong, Tan Phu Dong from the southern province of Tien Giang and Tra Cu from the southern province of Tra Vinh. According to the decision, at the district level, investment will be poured into schools and boarding schools for ethnic minority pupils, vocational training centers, irrigation works and roads between villages. At the communal level, essential infrastructure works will be invested, including schools, medical stations, power and irrigation works and water supply. The investment will be made based on regulations of Government Resolution 30a on supporting rapid and sustainable poverty reduction in 61 poor districts across the country. (cpv.org.vn April 26)
